I adopt the brown mulch. We take recently starting replacing our regular shredded mulch with safety mulch. It is a scrap pricey, just when you price how much you spend on mulch every year versus buying rubber mulch, which has a warranty against fading and is guaranteed for 12 years to retain color, prevents weed and keeps your plants healthy, it'due south a no-brainer. I would not use the rubber mulch if your purpose is to keep moisture . Wood mulch is meant to exist turned over in the soil every few years.
